• Wirksamer, selektiver und zellpermeabler Inhibitor für MAP-Kinase-Kinase (auch bezeichnet als MAPK/ERK-Kinase oder MEK-Kinase).  Inhibiert Phosphorylierung von MAP-Kinase durch MAP-Kinase-Kinase.  MAP-Kinase selbst wird durch PD 98059 nicht inhibiert.  IC50-Werte für PD 98059-induzierte Effekte sind in der Größenordnung von1-20 µM in vielen Assays; für einige Zelllinien ist es etwas schwächer in der Hemmung von Zellwachstum in Monolayern oder in Agar.  Dudley, D.T., et al.  "A synthetic inhibitor of the mitogen-activated protein kinase cascade."   "Proc.
